Summary:

A vegetarian restaurant where you can enjoy healthy food for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. There are three spacious rooms, with many tables, which allow you to spend a comfortable time as if you were home.

Teresa Carles - Vegetarian brunch in Barcelona - Seitan Hamburguer Teresa Carles is a vegetarian restaurant located close to Plaza Catalunya, where you can enjoy healthy food in a comfortable environment. Entering the place, on the right side there is a nice couch with easy chairs, where people wait before they get their table. Even if you haven’t called to reserve a table, the waiting time is not long at all. On the left side there is a big counter with fruits, vegetables and the different ingredients used to prepare the  salads. You can choose if you want to have a seat in this first room or in the one close by or in the third one, which has big windows.

The decoration is rustic, with brick walls, wood white chairs, many upholstered wall benches and tables with metal and wood. The acoustic was perfect, thanks to the panels on the ceiling, which absorb all the noise and allow everyone to enjoy their own conversation while listening to some nice music.

During the time we were there we saw many people coming and going, young people, adults, loners or big groups. Mums will be happy to know that there is a changing table in the restrooms. In the Teresa Carles’ menu you can find healthy food like wholemeal bread, home made marmalade and many ecological products as eggs, chocolate, yogurt and margarine.

All the juices are made with fresh products and smoothie lovers will be spoilt for choice. It wasn’t easy to decide what we wanted for brunch.  We ordered a seitan* burger with tomatoes, pickles, cheddar cheese and home made fries and a Jordi’s complete breakfast, which includes: freshly squeezed orange juice, mini fruit salad, crumbled eggs, toasted wholemeal bread with tomatoes and olives oil and a coffee with milk. The quality-price relation was more than fair and the service we received was excellent. Teresa Carles is a restaurant that nobody should miss in Barcelona.
