Frequently Asked Questions

What’s been your favourite brunch up until now?

This is a really tricky question, because up until now (14/05/2016) I’ve tried 71 brunches in 17 cities (including Barcelona), and in every country – and often in every city – the brunches have been special because they each of them had something different.

Where’s the best place to go for brunch in Barcelona?

This is, no lie, one of the most difficult questions I get asked, and I never know how to answer it. It’s simply impossible to pick one best place because they are so many, and each one has something a little different and special. For that reason, I got in touch with several other food bloggers and influencers, to produce 🔝 10 list with the best brunches in Barcelona, and finally give an answer to this question.

Why do you go and have brunch in every new country you visit?

You know those people who go on holiday with a toy, and take its picture in the most iconic spots? A little freaky, right?

Well, brunch is my oddity when I travel and it’s become an excuse to travel more often to add points on my personal brunch map.

It’s interesting to see how, in different countries, you can find little corners where, through the magic of brunch, you can feel totally at home. It’s a way of connecting the world together, creating a global network through such a cosmopolitan concept.

How you became a brunch freak?

The idea for this project was born one bank holiday, when I was looking for a place to go for brunch in Barcelona. I had to look at 4 different websites to find any information, and I thought: wouldn’t it be great to have one page, dedicated to brunch in this city.

So that’s how the journey began, searching out and trying various brunches, at first just in Barcelona, and then after a year, also all around the world. With the passing of time I decided that Coffee & Brunch couldn’t just be about brunch reviews, but had to be something more complete, I wanted it to be the go to place for all coffee and brunch fans. So I started adding recipes, articles about coffee, cafes, and a little about decorations too. I still have loads of ideas that I want to see realised which I think you’re going to like, but if you have any thoughts don’t keep them to yourself! Share them, by adding a comment to the blog or by getting in touch with me directly (link).

Have you put on some weight since starting to eat so many brunches?

It comes and goes. My main issue is a chocolate addiction, actually to desserts in general, and seeing incredible pictures of food all day long doesn’t help me fight these sweet temptations 🍰 🍪🍩 Age also doesn’t help, nor does spending hours on end sat down writing this blog.

However, I’m working now on a new project to create an ebook about healthy brunch recipes. This is helping me to get a better understanding of food, and gain more knowledge about nutrition and eating healthy. If you want to know more about this project, visit our Facebook page and subscribe to the Chile Mole Pasta mailing list to be the first to know when the book will be published.

Why do you have links to other pages and adverts on your blog, and how do they work?

Having a blog and keeping it up to date takes loooooaads of work, even more so if you want to publish the content in more than one language and without using automatic translations. Let me take this opportunity to thank Rosemary for all her help with the translations and Laila before her. Having links to partners’ websites is a small reimbursement for all the hours worked, and other costs such as the server and domain names, and all the brunches I go out to try.

If you decide to buy something from one of the links on my blog, there’ll be no extra charge for you, but I will receive a small percentage of that purchase.
