Brunch en Barcelona - Picnic_Burratina At Picnic it was very easy to book a table by phone, and they reserved a high table with bar stools for us. The bar stools are very comfortable, with great light on the table, being a little bit more isolated from the other tables. Looking at the menu we saw that they had just two of the typical brunch dishes, but they had a variety of original tapas that really attract attention.  We ordered eggs benedict and had the choice to have them with salmon or bacon.

They had potatoes and salad on the side and some hollandaise sauce on top, which was a bit spicy. From the tapas list we had the tomates verdes fritos, three slices of fried green tomatoes with feta cheese between each slice, calabaza con haloumi, rosted pumpkin with a grilled Greek cheese, and burratina, Italian cheese with rucola and dried tomatoes. All three of them were very original and delicious. The concept of having a tapa for brunch is very interesting because than you’ll have some place left to try a dessert. And so we tried the cheesecake with red berry sauce, the plum crumble with yogurt ice-cream and the homemade cake, which that day was lemon cake.

We had to wait pretty long to eat them, but it was worth it. We left very satisfied and said goodbye to all the waitresses who served us, most of them were very nice. The place’s decoration is very comfy, with a lot of light coming in through the big windows and in general the whole place is very well arranged. The weather wasn’t really warm that day in Barcelona, but there were some brave guests sitting on the terrace, which is located on a corner between two quite streets. The music was pleasant and its volume was just right. For parents arriving with a buggy, will find enough space on the terrace and some inside. There are a few higher chairs for kids available, so they can participate in the adults’ conversation. The restrooms are small but new, clean and nicely decorated. A small but nice detail is the sweets, which come with the bill.
