Summary:

THEY DON’T OFFER BRUNCH ANYMORE

This time we went back to Poble Sec to discovery a new brunch place close to the mill in Av. Parallel. Here you’ll find a retro-pop decoration, delicious food and a fantastic service.

Eggs benedict in Poble Sec – La Federica - Vikingos I was very surprised when I saw on La Federica’s facebook page that it was possible to contact them per whatsapp. So I decided to try out and after a couple of minutes they answered saying that our table was booked! If you don’t have whatsapp you can always call them or even write on facebook. We arrived at 1pm on a sunny Sunday but maybe it was still too early for other people. La Federica started its brunch hours only a few weeks ago but people they already know this place they seem to love their brunch as well.  And now I do understand why… their food is simply amazing! Their brunch menu is simple but complete. The savoury dishes are 4 different types of eggs and salads and the sweet dishes are various homemade yogurts, the “toast delirium” as well as homemade cakes. Their “wake up calls” are: Mimosa with blackberry, Bloody Mary and Apple Martini for only 4€, and cava or vermut for 2,5€. Of course they also offer different types of coffees and teas and additionally fruit smoothies with normal or soya milk for 4,5€. We had the eggs Benedict, Joselito and Vikingos. The pictures speak for themselves but I have to add that the quality of the food was extremely excellent and even the tomatoes tasted like real tomatoes! The portion are generous and if you want to try some homemade cake, be prepared to roll out of the place because even if you are full you won’t be able to stop eating! We had the chocolate fudge cake with toffee, the apple cake with walnuts, bourbon and cardamom and my favourite one: kiwi with white chocolate, cream, almond and marmalade beside! Apparently this last one is always on the menu, and sometimes they offer new ones. The decoration and the great service will let you feel home and you’ll like to stay longer, especially after you see how they serve you the bill (see pic!). If you are looking for a place where to have some good eggs Benedict in Poble Sec, stop searching! In my opinion this is definitely one of the best brunch places in Barcelona and I can’t wait to visit them at night as well.
