Do you know where is the Pedrera building in Barcelona? Did you know that there is a brunch place just on its side? And from its terrace you can actually enjoy the beautiful view!

Ecological brunch in Barcelona - Le pain quotidien - CroissantIn Eixample dreta there is a place called Le pain quotidian where it’s possible to enjoy a delicious ecological brunch. This is not a unique space because it’s actually a franchising and you can find 175 of them in 17 different countries around the world. Nevertheless my experience in the one, close to La Pedrera de Gaudí in Barcelona, was more than unique! From its terrace you can enjoy the marvellous view of the side of this monumental building or you can walk inside and be amazed from the many different types of bread, cakes and pastries, most of them ecological. Besides the small wooden tables along the walls, in the large space there is a huge communal table, made as well in bright wood. Same colour was chosen for the chairs and parquet and the walls were painted in a warm yellow/beige tonality. The brunch formula is a menu that includes: egg benedict (with ham or salmon), fruit salad, a basket containing six different types of bread and a croissant, butter, ecological apricot and strawberry jams, spreadable white chocolate, a hot drink and a freshly squeezed orange juice. I suggest to seat at the communal table, not only because you actually can just start to exchange some words with your neighbour, like it happened to us, but as well because the quantity of food you’ll receive is pretty big and needs space. The price for the brunch is 16,95€, a little bit more expensive than usual because of the organic selection of food. The service was friendly and it was nice to walk out with a smile after enjoying a healthy brunch and in addition see La Pedrera in front of you, it just made my day!
