Summary:

An eclectic style for a place where you can enjoy a brunch with bellini in Gracia. A menu with plenty of dishes that includes options for vegetarians as well.

Brunch with bellini in Gracia–Avenue Bar-Pancakes If you were already a fan of Timeline, the cosy brunch place in Gracia, you’ll definitely enjoy Avenue Bar. Their brunch menu is exactly the same as it was before in Timeline, but now the place is bigger. If you have never been to Timeline, you’ll be amazed by the many brunch dishes they offer in Avenue Bar and especially by their Special Brunch or as I would say, a brunch with bellini in Gracia. This includes a main dish, pancakes, toasts with butter and marmalade, coffee or tea and unlimited bellini* for 90 minutes. The price is 17,50€. This time we had the classical eggs benedict with salmon and the Special Brunch with San Francisco scramble, this one highly recommended when the weather is particularly hot, it’s probably the lightest dish on the menu. If you take the Special Brunch be sure you are very hungry… as desert there are two big pancakes included and I appreciate that for them they leave the liquid chocolate and corn syrup on the table. The vintage decoration of the place with some crazy details makes this space absolutely original. Don’t miss the dinosaur, the butterfly in the pot, the fish in the clock, the plant in a lamp and the cup as a lamp… The brown leather couch, the bench, the wallpapers and the brown wood all around, give you a cosy feeling. And if you get bored, challenge your friends with some Nintendo game or find some words in the huge word search puzzle!
*Peach juice with cava

The brunch in Avenue Bar was a special edition, because I had the opportunity to enjoy it with blogger Angela Elía, author of La maleta extraviada. Angela writes about the chances to get lost, which can allow you to find incredible things. She lives now in Barcelona and on her blog you will find original and inspiring posts about life in the city. Sophisticated, beautiful and fashionable are some of the many positive adjective I’d use to describe her blog. If you don’t believe me, I invite you to read her post yourself. Yes, I know, her pictures are much better than mine… 😉

Thank you Angela and I hope we’ll share soon another brunch together!

Will never go back as mencioned to waiter and owner. Why? On the menu (among many others) there were two veggy plates: - One with tofu sausage (and other stuff) - One with scrambled tofu (and other stuff) We asked if the second was just tofu without eggs. The answer was affirmative. The plate arrived and it was diced tofu sausage: spiced disgusting tofu sausage. I had probably 2-3 bites and when the billed came I ask not to be charged as this was not what I asked (my friend still had his whole meal and we both had drinks). Both the waiter (her excuse was she didn't know "that well" the plates) and the waiter apologized but still handed the full bill. Just another confirmation of zero spanish service, lack of intelligence and absence of customer fidelization. Just another place to avoid unless you want yet once more pay to stress and have bad service that will ruin your day. Final advise to owner of this place: 1.change your menu description, 2. train your staff 3. Remember the golden rule: the customer is always right (especially when you bring the wrong dish) 4. listen to your customers especially the ones who have bothered to constructively criticize you.
